Your baby is meant to breastfeed. Your milk always and exactly provides what your baby needs to grow and thrive. Usually breastfeeding is easy and fun. Occasionally a mom and baby will need some extra help. Stacey Haugland is a Certified Lactation Counselor who has helped hundreds of mothers and babies breastfeed. Please give her a call at 585-0752 if you are experiencing any difficulty.
Babies should only eat mother’s milk for the first 6 months of life. After that, if they are interested, they can eat other foods but should continue to nurse for at least the full first year of life. A minimum of 12 months of nursing has shown to have life-long benefits for babies. Breastfeeding has so many health benefits for mothers and babies. And the longer you nurse, the greater the benefits. Many mothers and babies enjoy nursing well into toddlerhood.
Remember, babies are born to nurse. If you are struggling at any point in your nursing relationship, give Stacey a call (585-0752) and schedule a home or office visit.
